‘Cujo’ – 2025 – First Trailer

Los Angeles, March 12, 2025 – Netflix has unleashed the first teaser trailer for its highly anticipated remake of Stephen King’s classic thriller Cujo, sending shivers down the spines of horror fans worldwide. Produced by Roy Lee (It, Barbarian), this new adaptation of the 1981 novel promises to deliver a fresh yet terrifying take on the tale of a rabid St. Bernard turned relentless 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁er, set to premiere on the streaming platform in late 2025.

The 90-second trailer opens with serene shots of a small American town, where a gentle giant of a St. Bernard, Cujo, playfully chases a rabbit into a cave. The mood shifts abruptly as a bat’s screech pierces the silence, followed by a close-up of Cujo’s snout—now bloodied and twitching after a fateful bite. The haunting score builds as we see Donna, a desperate mother (yet to be cast), and her young son Tad trapped in a sweltering, broken-down car, their faces etched with panic. “He was our friend,” Donna whispers, her voice trembling, before the screen cuts to Cujo’s snarling, foam-flecked jaws slamming against the car window.

Quick flashes reveal the dog’s rampage—a trail of bodies, shattered windows, and blood-streaked fur—culminating in a heart-stopping moment where Donna screams, “We’re not dying in here!” as Cujo’s paws scrape the hood. The trailer ends with the tagline, “Evil has a new leash,” and the iconic Netflix logo, leaving viewers on edge for what’s to come.

Originally adapted in 1983 with Dee Wallace in the lead, Cujo became a cult classic for its raw suspense and grounded horror. This Netflix version, still in early development, aims to amplify the claustrophobic terror while honoring King’s visceral storytelling. Though no official cast or director has been announced, the trailer’s gritty visuals and modern edge suggest a bold reimagining of the 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁er canine saga.

Fans have already taken to social media, with one X user raving, “That Cujo trailer looks like Jaws with paws—Netflix is cooking!” As Stephen King’s works continue to dominate screens—from The Monkey to the upcoming It: Welcome to DerryCujo is poised to reclaim its bite as a must-watch horror event. Stay tuned for more updates as Netflix prepares to let this beast off the chain.
