Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen surprised one of his biggest fans with two tickets to the Ryder Cup on Thursday, in a heartwarming moment before practice.
It’s an exciting time to be a Bills fan, as Allen recently agreed to a mammoth six-year, $330 million extension that keeps him in Buffalo through the 2030 season. The Bills are also set to play at their new Highmark Stadium from 2026, after team owner Terry Pegula funded a $2.1 billion project featuring three innovative features.
The 2025 Ryder Cup will also be held in the state of New York this September, though it is a 400-mile drive from Buffalo. General admission tickets have already sold out, but Allen had two tickets reserved and decided to give them to Bills superfan and avid golfer, Nate Forrestel.
Allen has sparked a friendship with Forrestel, who is often at Bills practice. When not supporting the Bills, Forrestel is usually seen on the golf course and documents his progression on social media.
Forrestel, or ‘@Natethegolfguy’ as he’s known on Instagram, has over 45,000 followers who regularly interact with his golf and comedy content. Forrestel has cerebral palsy and, per his Instagram bio, wants to “inspire people and make people laugh.”
On Thursday, Allen had a special surprise for Forrestel: He offered him two tickets to the Ryder Cup, which will be held at Bethpage Black Golf Course this year. Forrestel was shocked and began celebrating before sharing a warm embrace with the Bills quarterback.
This is incredible. Josh Allen just gave Nate Forrestel from Akron two tickets to the Ryder Cup. If you remember, last week Josh & Nate shared a viral moment talking about golf. Just unreal 🥹 #BillsMafia @WKBW pic.twitter.com/ay7FOCVGtl

After practice, Allen was asked about the moment that has since gone viral on social media. “Yeah, well, I know the Bills have had them for a while; obviously, it’s in New York this year,” Allen told reporters.
“So, why not have only the New York teams send some of our Bills Mafia over there? Nate, he’s a great guy, and he golfs a lot. I don’t know if you guys are on Instagram, but I believe his tag is ‘Natethegolfguy’ or ‘Natethegolfer’, one of those. He’s got a good swing; it was a cool moment.”
Allen is also an avid golfer and has featured in celebrity golf tournaments such as the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is also a frequent competitor.

The 2025 Ryder Cup is a six-day event, starting on Tuesday, Sept. 23, and ending on Sunday, Sept. 28. The first two days are sanctioned practice sessions, and an Opening Ceremony will follow.
The competition officially starts on Friday, Sept. 26, before a winner between Team Europe and Team U.S. is determined on Ryder Cup Sunday, Sept. 28. The Bills are scheduled to play the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 28, meaning that Allen cannot attend.
Ryder Cup organizers were initially met with backlash when tickets went on sale, with general admission prices set at $750. Despite the complaints, the tickets still sold out in a matter of hours.
The Bills have covered Forrestel’s experience, but Allen gave him one condition: “You have to cheer for Team USA,” Allen said.
