She never left. She was just waiting.
Warner Bros. has dropped the teaser trailer for Annabelle 4: Silent Fear (2025), the latest installment in the spine-chilling Conjuring Universe, and fans are already calling it the most haunting chapter yet. Returning to its roots of atmospheric terror and creeping dread, the film revives the cursed doll for a new generation of nightmares.
Directed by horror newcomer Isabel Fuentes, Annabelle 4: Silent Fear takes place in a secluded Catholic boarding school in northern Italy, where a mute orphan girl named Sofia discovers the doll locked away in a forbidden chamber of the convent. Once released, a string of mysterious deaths begins—and only Sofia seems to understand the doll’s whispers.
The trailer features silent halls, flickering candles, and shadowy figures moving just out of sight. Annabelle sits motionless… until she isn’t. A chilling nursery rhyme plays backward, and the final shot shows Sofia writing frantically on the walls: “She speaks through silence.”
Annabelle returns with more menace than ever, now tied to an ancient order of nuns who once tried to contain her evil centuries ago. The film stars Milly Alcock as Sister Francesca, Isabela Merced as Sofia’s caretaker, and Bonnie Aarons in a surprise appearance as the Demon Nun.
Annabelle 4: Silent Fear is produced by James Wan and Peter Safran, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It’s scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on September 12, 2025, promising a terrifying start to the Halloween season.
