The Isle of the Lost opens its gates once again. Disney+ has officially released the first trailer for Descendants 5 (2025), the latest chapter in its hit musical fantasy saga—and this time, a brand-new class of VKs (Villain Kids) steps into the spotlight.

Titled Descendants 5: Rise of the Forgotten, the story follows the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren of long-exiled villains who have been kept in the shadows—until now. When an ancient magical force threatens both Auradon and the Isle, a mysterious prophecy brings together new heroes and some familiar faces for the ultimate test of loyalty, legacy, and self-discovery.

Returning to the cast is China Anne McClain as Uma, now a respected leader on the Isle, joined by Dara Reneé, Joshua Colley, and breakout newcomer Aria Brooks as the 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren of villains never seen before, including Dr. Facilier, Madam Mim, and Hades’ long-lost daughter.

The trailer teases dazzling musical numbers, magical duels, and a powerful new villain rising from deep within the Forbidden Wing. A haunting new anthem titled “Shadow Crown” plays over glimpses of the young VKs navigating Auradon Prep, uncovering hidden truths, and facing choices that will shape the future of their world.

Fans were thrilled by surprise cameos of legacy characters, including a brief but emotional appearance by Dove Cameron’s Mal in a vision sequence, and a reference to Carlos, honoring the late Cameron Boyce with grace and respect.
