A24 has just dropped the highly anticipated official trailer for Talk to Me 2, and horror fans are already calling it “one of the scariest trailers of the year.” The sequel to the 2023 breakout horror hit promises to take the terrifying hand ritual to a whole new level, introducing new rules, new victims, and an even deadlier supernatural entity.
Plot Details Revealed
Set two years after the events of the first film, Talk to Me 2 follows a new group of teenagers who discover the infamous embalmed hand—but this time, they learn a horrifying truth: the spirits they summon are no longer bound by the 90-second rule.
The trailer opens with a chilling scene where a teenage girl dares to hold onto the hand longer than anyone before. As her eyes roll back and her body violently convulses, she gasps out a phrase that sends shivers down the audience’s spine:
“It’s not just one of them… They’re all here now.”
From there, the footage spirals into absolute chaos—doors slamming, shadowy figures stalking the characters, and eerie whispers growing into bloodcurdling screams. The final shot teases the horrifying return of Mia, now a tormented spirit, whispering:
“Let me in… one last time.”
Returning Cast & New Faces
Fans will be excited to see Sophie Wilde reprising her role as Mia, but in a shocking twist, she’s not the protagonist—she’s the entity haunting the new characters. The sequel also features up-and-coming horror stars, including Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Jenna Ortega (Scream), and Barry Keoghan (Saltburn),** in leading roles.
Director Promises Darker, More Unrelenting Horror
Speaking about the sequel, director Danny Philippou said:
“If you thought the first movie was intense, this one will leave you speechless. We’re diving even deeper into the mythology of the hand, and let’s just say—some things should never be touched.”
With the official release date set for October 31, 2025, horror fans will have to wait a few months before experiencing Talk to Me 2 in theaters. But if the trailer is anything to go by, this could be the scariest horror film of the decade.
