Max Verstappen (27) and Kelly Piquet (36) announced the good news some time ago that a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 is on the way. For a long time it was unclear when the little one would be 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧, but it is now known that the delivery is imminent. However, this presents Verstappen with a very difficult choice: attend the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 or ‘just’ complete the Formula 1 weekend.

Verstappen may have to make a tough decision in view of the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of his first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥. The Red Bull driver confirmed some time ago that the little one would not be 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 before, but during the F1 season, although it was still unclear at the time exactly which period we should think of. However, everything now points to the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 being 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in April. “That little one will arrive somewhere in April, if all goes well,” said Giedo van der Garde during a press event of Viaplay. Piquet also hinted on her Instagram that the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 would not be long in coming.

The Brazilian beauty shared a photo of a bag on the backseat of the car on her Stories, with the text: ‘Time to go home and then the countdown can begin’. The text was concluded with an emoji of a chick hatching from an egg. With this, Piquet seems to hint at a 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 in the coming weeks. This is in line with the words of Van der Garde, who, as a good friend of Verstappen, claimed that the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 will be 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in April. If Piquet does indeed give 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 next month, then there is a good chance that Verstappen will have to make a very difficult decision. After all, there are no fewer than three consecutive races on the program in April: Japan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The problem with this triple header is that the drivers hardly have time to go home. The race weekends follow each other in quick succession and they are also outside Europe, which means that a return trip to Monaco, where Piquet is apparently going to give 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡, is not easy to make. And if the 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 is 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 during the weekend, will Verstappen temporarily put his Formula 1 duties aside and skip the Grand Prix, knowing that every point seems to be going to be hugely important this year?

Every father will acknowledge that witnessing the 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 of his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 is one of the greatest moments in his life, but does this also apply if it means throwing away a potential Formula 1 championship? Verstappen will know that he will need every point desperately this year.

Piquet recently shared a photo on her Instagram account, in which she can be seen in a 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦 store, browsing through the clothes in the girls’ department.
