There are some well-known elements that Final Destination Bloodlines has to include as part of the saga, but there’s a sneaky one that’s easy to miss but needs to be included, as it’s the smartest clue to Death’s design. As the trend of reboots and long-awaited sequels in the horror genre continues to be quite popular, one of the franchises joining it this year is Final Destination. Fourteen years after the surprise prequel Final Destination 5, the saga is returning with a sixth movie, titled Final Destination Bloodlines, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein.
Final Destination Bloodlines is changing the saga’s formula a little bit, following a college student who is being haunted by a recurring nightmare of her family’s demise. Because of this, she decides to return home to find the only person who can prevent such tragedies: her grandmother, who years ago had a catastrophic vision that allowed her to save many lives, but Death might be coming after them now. Final Destination Bloodlines has to check some boxes to feel like part of the saga, including one that many viewers might not have noticed before.
