Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about her ‘lovely’ reunion with her ex-fiancé after they took their daughter Bambi to a soft-play centre last weekend.
The influencer, 25, shocked fans in summer when she announced she had split from the boxer, also 25, who she met on Love Island in 2019.
For the first time since their break-up, Molly-Mae and Tommy were back in each other’s company as they reunited for a festive day out with Bambi, 23-months, in Cheshire, on Saturday.
Speaking about the reunion in a new vlog on her YouTube channel, Molly-Mae said: ‘Tommy and I took Bambi to a soft play yesterday together, which was actually a really lovely thing to do and was really enjoyable to do that together.’
But Molly-Mae revealed that while it was a lovely day, she was left feeling deflated after she woke up to find that people had been leaving cruel comments about her weight under pictures of the day out.
‘I was looking at the comments, because naturally you go to the comments section, and what 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed me was people were more concerned about how large I looked,’ she said.
‘The top liked comment was “Molly-Mae’s been bulking” and I was like oh okay. And normally things don’t really bother me but then all the comments were like “Look’s like Molly-Mae’s eaten someone” and you can always trust the TikTok comment section to… people come up with really innovative things to say.
‘Like they wouldn’t just say “Oh looks like Molly-Mae’s put on weight” they’re like “Molly-Mae’s eaten someone” and I’m like do you know what, creative I like it. But I read it and I was like hmm, I think because I was already feeling a bit sensitive this week as to my appearance and I was just feeling a bit thingy about it, even today I was just like oh I don’t feel my nicest.’
Molly-Mae went on to say that the horrible comments did at least distract from the attention of her being seen with Tommy.
‘But I’m really glad that that took priority over co-parenting news and us being seen out together,’ she said.
Being candid about how the comments made her feel, Molly-Mae said: ‘Also it is a bit confidence knocking when you’re already.. It’s like whatever, if I hadn’t been feeling sensitive about that already I think probably literally wouldn’t have cared but this week I was already feeling sensitive about me not looking my best at the minute and it being December, and it’s bulking season.
‘Like whoever wrote the bulking comment do you not realise we’re in winter this is the time to bulk.’
Molly-Mae’s positive comments about time with Tommy came hours after the release of a trailer for her new Prime series Behind It All – where she got tearful about their split.
The trailer showed the influencer break down in tears as she admitted to feeling ‘angry’ and ‘hurt’ by Tommy.
The former Love Island star, 25, says the couple were ‘utterly obsessed’ with each other until the sudden breakdown of their five-year relationship, describing the aftermath of their split as the worst months of her entire life.
In a first look at her six-part series with Prime Video, Molly says: ‘All I ever wanted was to get married and suddenly overnight every part of my life changed…’
Viewers are given an insight into why the couple’s picture-perfect romance fell apart as Molly is filmed having a heated row with Tommy, 25, over the phone.
She says: ‘I’m actually not having this conversation with you’ before the boxer hangs up and Molly rolls her eyes in frustration, commenting: ‘Ah, honestly…’
During an emotional talk with her mother, she reveals the depth of her heartbreak, admitting: ‘I am angry at him, and I am very hurt…’ before she’s filmed hugging daughter Bambi saying: ‘I feel like sometimes it just really hits you that I’m in this alone now.’
Reflecting on his daughter’s overnight success, which saw her go from Love Island contestant to the UK’s biggest influencer, Molly’s father Stephen, says: ‘She’s just a normal girl, she just has the world’s eyes on her.’
Molly’s sister Zoe, adds: ‘There is a whole other side to Molly…’
Proving the show will be a family affair, Molly’s grandmother also features, as she hilariously comments: ‘It’s very 𝓈ℯ𝓍y clothes…’ while speaking about the star’s new fashion line.
The documentary series follows Molly as she navigates her breakup from Tommy, launches her first clothing business Maebe and parents the couple’s one-year-old daughter Bambi, who is also seen in the preview clip speaking the words, ‘Dada.’
