Fans have been left outraged as they rushed to defend Hayley Palmer after her ex Mark Labbett claimed their relationship was ‘not serious’.
The Chase star, known as The Beast, 59, took a savage swipe at the TV presenter, 42, in an interview with The Sun as he explained he and his wife Katie will only get divorced if one of them meets someone serious.
Hitting back at Mark’s comments fans branded the TV star a ‘narcissist’ and criticised his hurtful comments.
Hayley and Mark split in May, just days after their one year anniversary, leaving the blonde in therapy for ‘betrayal trauma’.
Taking to Instagram in light of her ex’s recent comments she wrote: ‘I think it’s a shame that someone could say something so heartless over a relationship that lasted over a year.
‘I have moved on and working to be the best version of myself. I think what is actually serious is Mental Health, and we should all be working together towards a caring Christmas x’.
Meanwhile fans took aim at Mark’s careless comments as they wrote: ‘He has no self reflection, no empathy, takes no responsibility for his actions, classic signs of a narcissist. Hayley dodged a bullet.’;
‘He’s not nice, he’s all self, probably broke it off without telling her and ghosted her.’; ‘Sometimes its better to say nothing….just a thought.’;
‘Was it really necessary to make that statement! I’d say she had a lucky escape!’; lucky escape there, another ‘crazy’.’;

Mark and his wife Katie split in 2020 after seven years of marriage and continue to co-parent their son, often sharing snaps of family outings to social media.
It comes after Hayley expressed her determination to move forward and focus on self improvements following the ‘traumatic’ split.
Last month she told Fabulous: ‘I’m focusing on my self-worth and working towards the body I’ve always wanted.
‘It was a horrible breakup, and he was truly beastly. But now, I’m all about becoming the best version of myself.
‘I’m at the gym every day, swimming, doing affirmations, getting my steps in, doing body pump, and lifting weights.’
Hayley previously confessed thinking about Mark with anyone else ‘brings it all back’ as she spoke candidly six months after the pair’s break up.
Hayley admitted she was forced to turn the TV channel over after seeing him on Loose Women as she admitted she found it ‘triggering’.
Speaking to MailOnline, Hayley confessed: ‘It was really upsetting seeing him pop up on my screen, and I had to turn over. I didn’t expect it to feel like that.
‘As the last time he was on there, I was sat beside him and we were speaking about celebrating our one year anniversary and then exactly one week later my world came crashing down.’
She added: ‘To be honest thinking about him with anyone just brings it all back.’
Hayley explained she was taken aback by her feeling as she continued: ‘It was triggering. I didn’t think it would be as I have worked really hard on my mindset and have been in a good place.’
Hayley previously claimed Mark ‘lives up to his nickname’ after ‘blindsiding’ her by brutally breaking-up with her over the phone.
She also revealed Mark ended their year-long romance because he did not want to divorce his ex wife Katie.
She also said she was disappointed that Mark didn’t discuss their relationship issues face-to-face and then blocked him so he can no longer contact her.
After marking their one-year anniversary on social media in May – Mark later claimed there was too much of an age gap between them.
Confirming the news of their break-up on Instagram, Hayley wrote: ‘It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways. We had the best year together and I truly wish him all the best for the future.’
