Iconic 70s sitcom star is seen on a rare outing after stepping back from the spotlight… can you guess who?

An actress who is known for appearing on an iconic ABC sitcom beginning in the late 70s was spotted on a rare outing in Los Angeles over the past weekend.

The star previously worked alongside a late comedic actor in the show which aired for a total of four seasons.

Following her run on the ABC series, she then took on a role in another sitcom which premiered on CBS in the 80s.

The actress is also married to a fellow actor who starred in a popular military police procedural drama for a total of 18 years.

Her last credited role was three years earlier in 2021 – and she has since taken a step away from the big screen.

But can you guess who it is?

It is Pam Dawber, 73 – who is known for playing the character of Mindy McConnell in the ABC sitcom, Mork & Mindy, alongside late comedian Robin Williams.

The show aired on the network for a total of four seasons from 1978 through 1982 – and also starred Conrad Janis, Ralph James, Elizabeth Kerr as well as Tom Poston.

The premise followed: ‘A wacky alien (Williams) comes to Earth to study its residents and the life of the human woman (Dawber) he boards with is never the same,’ per an official IMDB synopsis.

Mork & Mindy was a spin-off from an episode of Happy Days that was titled My Favorite Orkan.

Following its first season, the sitcom garnered two Emmy nominations: Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Williams.

During her rare excursion, Dawber was stylishly casual during a relaxing stroll in a quiet neighborhood.

She sported a gray sweatshirt that had the word ‘Hudson’ printed on the front in white lettering.

Pam – who is married to NCIS star Mark Harmon – additionally slipped into a pair of flared denim jeans and comfy sneakers that were secured with laces.

The star opted for minimal accessories during the solo outing, and wore a pair of fashionable shades to protect her eyes from the bright sunshine.

During a past interview with ABC in 2020, she recalled first learning of Mork & Mindy and admitted, ‘I hadn’t auditioned and I knew nothing.’

‘When I first read the script, I thought the premise was just the most stupid thing. I remember going, “And who in the hell is Robin Williams?”‘

However, Pam added, ‘The minute I met him I went, “Oh he’s so cute. And he’s so odd and so funny and boy, oh boy, am I lucky!” And so it went from there.’

Before his shock passing in August 2014 due to suicide – Dawber had opened up about the Good Will Hunting actor during an interview with AV Club earlier that same year.

‘I don’t know what it is about the two of us, but I have just loved him on a very deep level. Robin is truly one of the kindest, most caring people I’ve ever met.’

She also added that he ‘was never one of those comedians that was competitive and had to have all the funny lines.’

‘It was always playtime for him. He’s just very generous. He’s not going to try to grab somebody else’s line if he likes it better. He’s never been that kind of guy.’

Dawber later appeared in another sitcom, My Sister Sam, which aired on CBS from 1986 through 1988.

She starred alongside Rebecca Schaeffer – who was shot and 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed by an obsessed fan, Robert John Bardo, in July 1989 at her home in West Hollywood. She had been only 21-years-old.

Pam’s last credited role, per her IMDB page, was when she made a guest appearance in episodes of NCIS for the show’s 18th and 19th seasons.

The actress appeared alongside her husband, Mark Harmon – who notably portrayed the lead role of Leroy Jethro Gibbs from 2003 through 2021.

Dawber played the character of journalist, Marcie Warren, after previously turning down the opportunity to play a part in the series in the past.

However, when she got the script for the character of Marcie, she told Entertainment Weekly in 2021, ‘The character is so good.’

‘I just fell in love with what they wrote. And then I had anxiety like, “Oh my God, am I going to do this?”‘

She also talked about not wanting her and her husband’s characters to develop a romance during her time on the show.

‘I talked to the writers and the producers before I signed on and said, “If this is a romantic interest, I’m not interested.” They said not at all, that’s not where we’re going with this.’

Pam and Mark tied the knot in 1987 – and celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary earlier this year in March.

The couple also share sons Sean, 36, and Ty, 32 – who have both dabbled in the entertainment industry to follow in their parents’ footsteps.

Sean is an actor who has also made appearances in NCIS as well as the Hold On (2019) and The Fits (2015). Ty is notably a screenwriter.

Last year in November, Mark recalled his first date with Pam during an interview with People and said a mutual friend had tried to set them up.

‘I said, “Can I just call? Can I get a number and just cold call?” And so I did. I got the number, and I called, and I got an answering machine.’

The actor added, ‘And I started to leave a message that said, “We don’t have to all go out. We could get a cup of coffee or something.” And then she was monitoring and she picked up. We went out that night and we’re together ever since.’

In regards to the secret to their long-lasting relationship, Harmon told the outlet, ‘I have no secret.’

‘We laugh. You got to laugh, and you got to talk and communicate. That’s the fun part. Do we sit and talk about it? No.’

‘Maybe you just get fortunate and find the right one. We share many things and yet we’re really different,’ he added.
