Star of iconic 90s comedy blockbuster looks unrecognizable on VERY rare sighting in LA… can you guess who?

This Dutch actor famously played an iconic role in a ’90s comedy blockbuster.

And on Tuesday, the 76-year-old entertainer was pictured on a rare outing in Los Angeles, as he stopped by Trader Joe’s for groceries.

The seven-foot-tall star — who was diagnosed with acromegaly at age 20 — opted for a casual look, sporting a grey zip-up hoodie, black sweatpants and sneakers.

The actor — who also starred in the television series Twin Peaks (1990–1991) and had a guest role in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987–1992) — shielded his head with a green bucket hat, and wore a pair of dark sunglasses.

After returning his cart, he was pictured making his way back to the car with the help of a walking stick.

Can you guess who he is?

That’s right, it’s Carel Struycken!

He famously starred as the spooky butler Lurch in the 1991 film The Addams Family.

Lurch was the family butler, known for his tall and imposing figure, and deep rumbling voice.

Struycken reprised his role in Addams Family Values (the 1993 sequel) and the 1998 TV film Addams Family Reunion.

The Addams Family is a fictional family, created by American cartoonist Charles Addams, and known for their eccentric and macabre lifestyle.

The Family consists of Gomez and Morticia Addams, their 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, Wednesday and Pugsley, and close family members Uncle Fester and Grandmama, their butler Lurch, and Pugsley’s pet octopus, Aristotle.

Struycken starred alongside Anjelica Huston as Morticia Addams, Raul Julia as Gomez Addams, Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Fester Addams / Gordon Craven, Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams, and Jimmy Workman as Pugsley Addams.

In October, he reunited with The Addams Family cast at Comic Con in Los Angeles, more than 30 years on from when the film was released.

He was joined by Workman, Lloyd, Huston and Ricci, with the group posing for a snap at the event.

Sharing the pics online, Christopher wrote: ‘The family that haunts together, stays together.’

The Addams Family was originally a comic ᵴtriƥ, but became a hit TV series before the movie was released in 1991.

There is also a Netflix spin-off, called Wednesday, which launched in 2022.

In May this year, Netflix announced that season 2 of Wednesday had begun production with a slew of British stars being added to the cast.

Struycken was discovered in 1978 on Hollywood Boulevard and cast in Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

In 1985, Struycken took on the role of Terak in the Star Wars spin-off film, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.

He also played The Giant in David Lynch and Mark Frost’s 1990–91 television series Twin Peaks.

In 2017 he appeared in the sequel series, Twin Peaks: The Return.

He was diagnosed with acromegaly in his twenties.

Acromegaly is a rare condition caused by the overproduction of growth hormone, which leads to the enlargement of various parts of the body, such as the hands, feet, forehead, jaw, and nose.

Struycken and his wife live in Los Angeles with their two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.
