Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes recently stepped into a new role as a hero on an EasyJet flight, rushing to the aid of a fellow passenger who appeared to be fainting. The Portuguese star was traveling from Manchester to Lisbon alongside teammate Diogo Dalot when he noticed a man struggling at the back of the plane.
Witness Susanna Lawson described the scene, explaining that Fernandes had been heading to the restroom when the incident occurred. In an urgent call for help, Fernandes shouted, “Excuse me! We need help! Excuse me! We need help!” His quick reaction drew the attention of the flight crew, who immediately rushed to the scene.
Fernandes assisted the fainting man by helping him to a vacant seat and stayed with him until he was stable. Reflecting on the incident, Fernandes said, “It was instinctive. I just wanted to make sure he was okay. At that moment, I wasn’t thinking about anything else but helping him.”
Keeping a low profile, Fernandes returned to his seat quietly, not seeking attention. His actions, however, didn’t go unnoticed. Lawson, who later thanked Fernandes for his assistance, described him as “humble and kind.” She remarked, “Honestly, if you didn’t know who he was, you’d think he was just another passenger.”
This incident adds to a busy week for the Manchester United captain, who recently celebrated his 250th appearance for the club and was honored at the Quinas de Ouro awards. While fans are accustomed to Fernandes’ s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 on the field, this act of kindness showcased his character off the pitch, drawing praise from all around.
