As Ferrari gears up for the São Paulo Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc has stirred attention with a bold declaration. When asked about the ongoing rivalry between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, Leclerc openly admitted that their on-track clashes could benefit Ferrari’s push in the constructors’ standings.
“I want to keep seeing them collide,” Leclerc commented. “Every time they battle, it creates opportunities for us to close the gap and secure more points. McLaren and Red Bull are still very strong, but these incidents work to our advantage.”
Despite Ferrari’s recent strong performances in Austin and Mexico with double podium finishes, Leclerc acknowledged that competing head-to-head with the leading Red Bull and McLaren cars will still be challenging. However, with just 54 points between the top three teams, Ferrari is now in a position to capitalize on any missteps by their rivals.
As tensions rise among the top teams, Leclerc’s remarks reflect Ferrari’s strategic mindset, hoping that the ongoing Verstappen-Norris battle could open the door for the Italian team to rise in the standings.
