The entire world was captivated by the young phenom – who has recently collaborated with Rory McIlroy on a thrilling venture – as he dominated the sports scene and his courtship with Nordegren, whom he encountered in 2001 when she was just 21, working as a nanny for golfer Jesper Parnevik.

Patterson recounts that 25-year-old Woods was immediately smitten with the Swedish nanny but too bashful to approach her directly. Instead, he had one of his entourage initiate contact, an effort that initially failed to impress Nordegren.

“That’s the way he’s lived his life,” Patterson spilled to the Daily Mail, comparing Woods’ method of seeking a partner to ordering room service: “Whatever Woods needed, whether it was room service or a wife, his first instinct was to say, ‘Let’s get a manager to do that’.”

Despite having a boyfriend back in Sweden, Nordegren agreed to go out with Woods, which led to their marriage in 2004. In the meantime, Woods continued his relentless pursuit of golfing greatness, amassing 15 major championships and pursuing the record set by the legendary Jack Nicklaus.

Tiger Woods, whose storied career began in 1995, has yet to announce any retirement plans. He captured his 14th major victory in 2008 and then endured an 11-year hiatus before clinching another significant triumph at the Masters in 2019.

During the 2024 season, Tiger Woods took part in all four major championships but only made it past the initial rounds at the Masters. Since his triumphant victory at Augusta in 2019 and a serious car crash in February 2021 that left him with grave leg injuries, Woods hasn’t been able to secure a top 10 finish in any of the majors.

Before their high-profile separation in 2010, Woods was wed to Elin Nordegren. The marriage collapsed amidst revelations of his numerous extramarital affairs, which led to some sensational episodes, including one where Nordegren reportedly used Woods’s phone to call one of the women he was alleged to have had an affair with.

Woods once confessed, “After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person,” following the couple’s split in 2010. In one notable event, Nordegren smashed the window of Woods’s SUV outside their Florida home.

She has since moved on and is now in a relationship with ex-NFL tight end Jordan Cameron. The biography “Tiger, Tiger: His Life, As It’s Never Been Told Before” by James Patterson, released on July 15, 2024, soared to the top of the New York Times bestseller list.
