The future holds some uncertainty for Ashley Young after his second Aston Villa exit, but the former Manchester United man doesn’t look set to turn his back on football just yet
Free agent Ashley Young is making the most of his summer holidays after showcasing his latest art investment following his second departure fromย Aston Villa.
And this one will stick with the utility man for life after he unveiled the fully finished back tattoo that takes inspiration from his on-field career. The future looks uncertain for the formerย Manchester Unitedย man after leaving Villa Park this month, but one thing that isn’t in question is his love of the game.
One need only look at his back canvas for proof of that, depicting a man and ๐ค๐ฉ๐ช๐ญ๐ฅ in front of a packed stadium, with the latter sporting Young’s No. 18 jersey.
Text painted above and below the scene reads: “Nothing or no one can hold you back when you realise the power you possess is limitless.”
Young thanked Bristol and Cheltenham-based tattooist Molly Rose for the illustration, having started the piece when he was still at Old Trafford back in 2019.
“Thanks So Much for finally finishing this Wicked Piece and Thank You for having me,” wrote the soon-to-be 38-year-old onย Instagramย alongside an upload of his latest ink. The veteran also appeared to have more work done on his right forearm, with that area wrapped in a protective seal.FinveoDon’t Just Trade, Copy the Bestby Taboola

Villa and United fans alike flocked to the comments section on Instagram, with plenty of the former calling for Young to sign another one-year deal ion Birmingham. The versatile club man was a frequent fixture in Unai Emery’s rotation as Villa finished seventh in theย Premier Leagueย and qualified for the Europa Conference League play-offs.
“Sign for villa for one more season,” exclaimed one enthusiastic supporter. “You are a f***ing legend at Villa,” gushed another. “You will always have a place in my Villa team. Love that back bro.”

Young left Villa Park for United in 2011 and spent nine years at the Theatre of Dreams, winning one Premier League crown, aย Europa Leagueย title, anย FA Cupย and aย League Cup. He left Old Trafford forย Inter Milanย in 2020, and the Nerazzurri are huge underdogs to beat his old rivals, Manchester City, in Saturday’sย Champions Leagueย final.
“Top player for the reds,” praised one Red Devils fans. “Hopefully your other club Inter can do us a favour on Saturday.”
It will be a touch ask for Simone Inzaghi’s side as they look to stop a City side standing just one win from completing the Treble.ย Pep Guardiola’s men beat United at Wembley to lift the FA Cup last Saturday but can cement their places in European history at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
