Récemment, l’astéroïde le plus redouté par les scientifiques a été détecté se rapprochant dangereusement de la Terre. Connu sous le nom de “Apophis”, cet astéroïde mesure environ 340 mètres de diamètre et a suscité des inquiétudes en raison de son potentiel destructeur. Bien que des calculs préliminaires aient suggéré un risque faible de collision dans un avenir proche, la NASA surveille de près son orbite en raison de la menace qu’il représente.
Face à ce danger, la NASA a élaboré un plan ambitieux pour prévenir tout impact potentiel. L’agence spatiale américaine prévoit d’utiliser des technologies de déviation d’astéroïdes, telles que le système DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test). Ce projet vise à lancer une sonde spatiale capable de percuter l’astéroïde afin de modifier légèrement son orbite, éloignant ainsi le danger de notre planète.
Les tests préliminaires et les simulations ont montré que cette méthode pourrait être efficace pour contrer les menaces futures. Avec une stratégie en place et des technologies en développement, la NASA se prépare à protéger la Terre contre les risques d’astéroïdes tout en continuant de surveiller de près Apophis et autres objets célestes potentiellement dangereux.
