Paul George Throws Shade at Clippers in Bold New Lakers Remarks

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had a great offseason by any standards or metrics. After being sent home in the first round by the Denver Nuggets this past postseason, they didn’t make any major tweaks to the roster.

They only re-signed LeBron James before adding Bronny James and Dalton Knecht in June’s NBA Draft.

Outside of that, it’s been a lackluster offseason for the purple and gold. The only thing that makes their offseason better is how the Clippers took a massive loss this offseason.

Forward Paul George decided to leave town to join the Philadelphia 76ers on the east coast. He recently took a massive shot at the Clippers while giving some praise to the Lakers.

Lakers News: Paul George Said the Clippers Felt Like the ”B” Team

George was traded to the Clippers back in 2019 for FIVE first-round picks. At the time, they believed they had a monster duo of George and Kawhi Leonard who were ready to take over the league. During his five-year tenure in Los Angeles, the Clippers only made it to the Western Conference Finals.

Now with that chapter of his career closed, George took a major shot at his former team on his podcast “Podcast P with Paul George”.

There he said, “I’m on the B team. That’s how the vibe felt.”

In the city of Los Angeles, everyone knows the Lakers are No. 1. No matter what the Clippers and their fanbase say, it will always be a Laker town.

For the past five years, George always made it seem like the Clippers were going to overtake the Lakers but that never happened.

Now that he’s no longer on the team, he’s revealing the truth about how he feels. That perception of the Clippers is certainly how others likely view them as well.

The Clippers have zero championships while the Lakers have the second most in NBA history with 17.

No matter how you slice it up, George is right. The Clippers are the B team in Los Angeles. That isn’t something that will change but for him to say that only a few weeks after he left is certainly a statement and emphasizes the culture within those walls.

Despite having an underwhelming offseason thus far, the Lakers can always count on clowning the Clippers.
