Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2024, following the success of the first two installments (2020, 2022). While much is still unknown about the cast of the film, there is information indicating that many actors from previous parts will return.

As with the previous two installments, Ben Schwartz will return to voice the titular character, Sonic the Hedgehog. Alongside him, completing the iconic trio will be Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower and Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna. Jim Carrey is officially returning as Dr. Robotnik despite his retirement as a famous actor.

Sonic 3 will also feature new members in its upcoming cast such as Krysten Ritter, Cristo Fernández. James Wolk, Alyla Browne, Jorma Taccone, Sofia Pernas, and Keanu Reeves will also appear.

The post-credits scene of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 introduced one of the most famous game characters: Shadow the Hedgehog. Therefore, Shadow is expected to be used as the main antagonist of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Shadow’s introduction also opens up the opportunity to introduce other game characters.
