Luis Diaz scored on his Liverpool return with his father currently missing due to being kidnapped in Colombia.
The Reds forward had missed his side’s last two matches amid the trauma of his parents being abducted by the Colombian National Liberation Army (ELN).

His mother has since been returned, and pre-match Jurgen Klopp revealed that negotiations were ‘positive’ for his father.
Diaz entered the pitch with Liverpool trailing 1-0 against Luton, and with just four minutes left to impact the game he did exactly that.
Seeing a Harvey Elliott cross, Diaz leaped into the air to head it into the back of the net and reveal a message on his shirt which read: “LIBERTAD PARA PAPA” which translates to ‘freedom for dad’.

The goal was enough to deny Luton a historic win, who took the lead through ex-Manchester United player Tahith Chong’s goal, and claim Liverpool a point in emotional fashion.
Discussing the decision to include Diaz pre-match, Klopp said: “It’s still emotional, but Luis decided three days ago that he wanted to try and train again.
“The football pitch and the training ground is a safe place for the boy. There he can behave normal, forget a for few minutes what’s going on.
“All the signs he’s gotten are positive [about his dad’s return]. Negotiations are ongoing, but still positive, so that’s why he wanted to be part of the team and could come on.
“He trained well, but nobody can imagine how something like that feels.”
