After Harvey Elliott’s 20-yard attempt was spilled by Ionut Radu, Cody Gakpo’s close-range shot gave the Reds a first-half lead.
The Cherries had a nearly full-strength lineup, with only three changes from Saturday’s win over Burnley, but were not at their best until after the interval, when Justin Kluivert’s header from a corner earned them a point.
They were level for lasted six minutes, however, before Nunez cut in from the left and hoisted a superb effort over Radu and in for the winner.
