Francis Ngannou is set to make his professional boxing debut when he faces WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this weekend. The former UFC heavyweight champion was gifted a very expensive special edition watch from soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.
‘The Predator’ shared footage of himself receiving the watch to his Instagram, captioning the post:
“Got to pick up my new watch ahead of fight week here in Riyadh. Thank you @jacobandco Riyadh & my brother @cristiano! FuryNgannou”
Ngannou previously shared photos of himself hanging out with Ronaldo in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to his Instagram, captioning the post:
“Great talking with the đ in Riyadh today. Very inspirational! @cristiano”
Check out Francis Ngannou’s post with Cristiano Ronaldo below:
Ronaldo, who is the most followed individual on Instagram, signed a deal to join Al Nassr Football Club, a Saudi Arabian club, near the end of 2022. He joined the club in 2023 on a contract that reportedly pays him more than $200 million per year.
Meanwhile, Ngannou famously became the first reigning champion to leave the UFC since B.J. Penn in 2004 when he chose to let his contract expire and become a mixed martial arts free agent earlier this year. His crossover bout with Fury will reportedly bring the biggest payday of his career.
Carl Froch believes Mike Tyson has a better chance of beating Tyson Fury than Francis Ngannou
Francis Ngannou will have Mike Tyson in his corner for his professional boxing debut against Tyson Fury this weekend. Former WBC and IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch believes that the International Boxing Hall of Famer, who is 57 years old, would have a better chance against ‘The Gypsy King’ than ‘The Predator’.
Speaking to Best Gambling Sites, Froch stated:
“Bringing Mike Tyson in has brought more interest to it, it’s like he’s glamorised the event. Wherever he goes he’s like a god. He’s a f**king mad, brilliant fighter and the ultimate fighting machine.”
He continued:
“There’s an argument to say Mike Tyson would give Tyson Fury a better fight than Francis Ngannou. He’s got all of that experience, he’s an old man, but he’d give Tyson Fury more of a fight for two or three rounds than Francis Ngannou is going to manage.”
While Ngannou holds the record for the world’s most powerful punch, many have given him no shot of defeating the WBC heavyweight champion. ‘The Predator’ will be making his professional boxing debut, while Fury has a record of 33-0-1.
