Manchester United fans are fuming at the Premier League after their away game against Newcastle United on Saturday, December, 2, will be an 8pm kick-off.
The Premier League announced the first batch of games selected for TV in December and their respective kick-off times, with December’s complete list of fixture timings soon to be confirmed ahead of the busiest period in the footballing calendar.

And United fans have been left seething after they were handed a late night Saturday trip to Tyneside, alongside a possible train strike affecting that day. Even so, an early glance at train times reveals the latest train back to Manchester being 8.58pm – which would be at half-time.
TNT Sport will televise Erik ten Hag’s side’s trip to St James’ Park. It will be the third Saturday 8pm this season for United after previously travelling to Burnley last month and heading to Sheffield United tomorrow.
The United faithful have been left fuming at the 300-mile round trip they’ve been handed on a Saturday night. Further frustration from fans is likely to be expected in the following seasons as the Saturday 8pm slot looks to become increasingly more popular.

Many took to social media to vent their anger at the timing, one said: “Newcastle v Manchester United at 8pm on Saturday night. Considerate.” A second added: “Zero consideration for match going fans as usual.”
A third fan called the decision a “joke”, while a fourth added: “These 8pm Saturday night kick-offs can get in the bin…” This could be just the beginning of festive frustration for fans ahead of Christmas with the possibility that Premier League matches could be played on Christmas Eve this year.

It’s reported by The Telegraph, that discussions regarding a possible December, 24, fixture could be in the offing this year although it’s said that an insider claimed: “Nothing is final until final. Not all changes are just for broadcast – some are for local authority and some might be for other competitions.”
