Zinedine Zidane Exposed Decisive Factor That Keeps Cristiano Ronaldo Above Lionel Messi: ‘Nobody Has Done What He Has’

Zinedine Zidane recently trended on soccer Twitter as a section of the fan base dug up his old comments on the Ronaldo vs. Messi debate. As expected, both sets of fans actively engaged in the conversation to support their respective superstars for the title of the Greatest of All Time.

Zidane’s comments that were in the discussion were from a press conference after a Ballon d’Or ceremony. Earlier that night, Cristiano Ronaldo equaled Lionel Messi’s then-record of five Ballon d’Or.

At the press conference, Zidane said, “There have been many players who have made history at this club. But nobody has done what he has — the statistics speak for that. What he has done is impressive. So I think yes [he is the best at history].”

At the same conference, Zidane was also compared to Cristiano himself to which he replied, “I was clearly better. If I have to choose, I choose myself. But seriously, you know I think Cristiano is much better, although I had a good career.”

“There are no more words to define him. What he does every day, every game is phenomenal. He has made history at this club and keeps doing that, and I hope it will continue until he retires here.”

This was a time when Ronaldo was still at Real Madrid and was winning Champions League for fun. A lot has happened since then, as we all know. Lionel Messi won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which ended the debate for some. As for Zidane, as per the last public comment he made on the topic, his vote was for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Zidane willing to snub PSG for France Job

Zidane made headlines recently for various reasons, including his 51st 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day celebration, the resurfacing of old comments, and being linked with the PSG job.

Since his second stint with Real Madrid, Zidane has been out of management, but it is anticipated that he will make a return soon. In an exclusive interview with Téléfoot, Zinedine Zidane expressed his eagerness to resume coaching as soon as possible, keeping the possibility of joining Ligue 1 open.

The decision-maker at Qatar’s PSG wanted Zidane to replace Mauricio Pochettino last season, but the talks ultimately fell through. As of now, Zidane has declined any current proposal from the French champions, opting to wait for the France job.

The former manager sounds optimistic about his next move, stating, “I don’t restrict myself from anything.” Zidane has been extensively linked with PSG, Juventus, and even his former club, Bordeaux. Zidane has been extensively linked with PSG, Juventus, and even his former club, Bordeaux.
