Katherine Kelly Lang is living her vita migliore (best life) while filming The Bold and The Beautiful in Italy. The soap star, is in Rome with co-starts Annika Noelle, Matthew Atkinson, Thorsten Kaye and Jacqueline MacInnes.

Katherine looked lovely in a vibrant blue and white wrap top with a tie around her waist and white slacks. She carried a white handbag and wore white sandals as she walked with her arm around Thortsen’s shoulders. The actors were spotted in front of the iconic Colosseum in Rome on Sunday.

Earlier this month, the actress reflected on the early days of playing Brooke Lang on the CBS soap.

She has played the chemist and fashionista with blue collar roots since the show’s beginning in 1987.

The Los Angeles native described the origins of her character with Daytime Confidential, saying Brooke is: ‘a girl from the other side of the tracks that falls in love with the young socialite, Beverly Hills guy.

‘She comes from a hard-working family in the Valley. I liked that it’s kind of how I grew up. I grew up in Encino in a hard-working family. I didn’t grow up with money, and it was kind of interesting to have that excitement of falling in love with the rich family,’ she said.

She said she had been offered some soap opera roles on New York based shows, but wanted to stay in Southern California.

When The Bold and the Beautiful came along, ‘it was a brand-new show and it was half an hour, so you could kind of create your character. It was in L.A. and I thought, “What do I have to lose?” It was very interesting to me.

‘So I signed the contract. At that time, four years seems like a long time, because when you’re young, time seems longer. Four years really goes by like that. So, it went by so fast and I just decided to re-sign, and re-sign, and re-sign,’ she added.

And her first day almost didn’t happen as she recounted to the outlet that some men tried to pull her into a van to rape her earlier that day but thanks to her brother’s quick thinking, she escaped.

36 years: Katherine has played Brooke Lang on the CBS soap since it debuted in 1987

And 36 years later, she’s thrilled to still be playing Brooke Lang.

‘I’m so happy I stayed on the show, she said. ‘It’s something that I’m proud of, actually, to be somewhere for a long period of time.’

‘It still makes me happy to come to work every day. It feels like family,’ she gushed.

‘It feels like home going into my dressing room, and it’s such a good feeling. I really honestly do love it as much as I always have. So, it’s an amazing job and I can’t even call it a job because it’s more like play,’ she added.
