Bryson DeChambeau has become one of the biggest names in American golf, first bursting onto the Ryder Cup scene as a rookie in Paris at Le Golf National back in 2018

Bryson DeChambeau revealed there was “no greater honor” than making his Ryder Cup debut for Team USA in 2018, having played alongside two of his heroes, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.

The 2018 trip to Paris proved to be a week to forget for the Americans, as Team Europe ran away with victory on home soil. It did, however, give DeChambeau his first taste of Ryder Cup golf, before he finally went on to taste success at Whistling Straits three years later.

Having missed the matchplay event in 2023 on the back of his move to LIV Golf, 2025 captain Keegan Bradley has assured DeChambeau he will be back on the team in September.

The event is clearly one that means a lot to the Crushers captain, and he showed this following his debut seven years ago. To me, there is no greater honor than having the opportunity to put on the red, white and blue in competition and represent your country,” he told Trump Media on the back of his debut.

Highlighting getting the chance to play with both Woods and Mickelson, he added: “To have the opportunity to play on the 2018 United States Ryder Cup team was a great honor. I had the chance to partner with both Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson that week in Paris.

“For me to get a chance to partner with two of my 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥hood idols in a Ryder Cup is something I will never forget. While we did not play our best that week as a team, it was an incredible experience. I look forward to working hard to make the team in 2020 on home soil at Whistling Straits, where we will have the home crowd advantage.”

His 2025 spot was confirmed by Bradley at The Open Championship this month, who told Sports Illustrated: “Bryson is going to be a very important piece to us winning the Ryder Cup. He brings so much. He brings energy, passion, but most importantly, he’s one of the best players on the planet.”

DeChambeau admitted after his final round at The Open that the American captain left messages in the lockers of all the U.S. hopefuls competing. “I talked with him briefly,” DeChambeau said of Bradley. “And then he put something in our lockers that was pretty inspirational. So, yeah.

“It’s a personal message. Yeah, for sure. It meant a lot. This year’s no joke. We’re tired of it. We’re tired of losing.” The Americans will be looking to win the cup back at Bethpage Black, having lost out to their European rivals in Rome two years ago.
